Question about Blogger

Well I noticed that I have gained a couple more followers recently. I wanted to check who was the latest to join up but I am uncertain about how the sort order shows up. Is there a way to tell who signed up to follow your blog and when?

  1. I believe it shows relatively chronologically in the followers gadget. It is listing myself and Edwin King as the last two when I look at it. As far as I know there is no way to know when people follow exactly. I just glance at the followers on my page and try to remember to acknowledge them in an upcoming post. I go by avatar as that gets my attention the most.

    1. Thanks. I was just hoping they had a tool for it or something. I probably should acknowledge when I see folks sign up. I have been slack about it. Thanks again and welcome aboard.

  2. Yeah, the follower list just keeps adding people, newer on top of older, so the ones that show up first are the most recent, except, fi the person doesn't have a picture-icon, then all of those are put after the oldest follower that does have an icon, again, with the most recently added first. It won't tell you when a person started following however.

although, some blogs don't have a follower widget (which is annoying)so to follow them you have to add to your blog list by html.. problem is, if you are following 300 blogs already it won't let you add any new ones. you can follow a blog this way even if they do ahve a follower widget, people who follow in that way I don't think show up on your 'followers' widget, so no way to know who or how many who follow this way.

    1. Interesting. I did not know that about the no icon folks. Thanks for the top tip. I agree about the no followers widget. I have had to manually add a bunch because of that.

  3. I agree with Laughing Ferret, Chronologically except if the new member does not have an icon. then he (or she comes towards the back).

  4. All interesting I've wondered the same thing. Though I just took to thanking new followers as soon as I saw a new icon...I don't get too many.

But I didn't realize the no icon thing.
