He is focusing on the Late/Post WWI time period. The veterans of the Great War are few and far between and the British Army in India is not the same as the Men who fought across France and Belgium. The Afghan's are a colorful collection of troops with a wide assortment of weapons. He is sorely tempting me to look at a new period. Anyway, check out http://waziristanonafancy.blogspot.com if you have a spare minute. You will not regret it.
Just been over there ans saw your comment, lovely figures too!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. That is a project that is really shaping up.
DeleteThanks for pointing this out. My grandfather was out on the NWF in 1919, so it's one I'll be following...
ReplyDeleteInteresting. The world becomes ever smaller.
DeleteThanks Chris. A very useful find. As chance would have it, this is the period I'm looking at for a club project later this year! So "timely" is very definitely the word!
ReplyDeleteExcellent. Juan's project nearly has me committed to trying it.
DeleteVery interesting. I must admit I knew next to nothing about the 3rd Afghan War until Empress released their 1920's colonial figures. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. Nearly drew me in, but not yet.
